Mind/Body Conversation #1

Body Wisdom Chakras

Welcome to Mind/Body Conversation #1

For more than 20 years, the concept of how our mind affects our bodies has been my passion.  I have studied the research of and worked with Meredith Young-Sowers, Dr. Div., a gifted medical intuitive; Dr. Mona Lisa Schultz, MD, PhD, another gifted medical intuitive; Dr. John Sarno, a pain management specialist; Louise Hay, a gifted author and researcher in the mind/body field; Abraham-Hicks, the originator of The Law of Attraction; and the greatest teacher of all, my own physical body.

What I would like to offer in this first “conversation” is a greater understanding of what I have seen over the last 20 years from my clients and myself as to how our bodies speak to us to get our attention.  #1: The first premise we need to address is that “your body has wisdom and wants to share it with you”.  #2:  The second premise is that “your emotions guide your physical reality”.

What I am going to do is use myself as a first example of how the mind affects the body.  And, I am hoping that if any of you have comments or questions, you will email me and we can share with the group.  I will NOT  use your name.  So, let’s get started with my most recent Body Wisdom Message. Two years ago I took a terrifically fast jump off of a horse’s back because he was going so fast, I couldn’t control him.  An absolute NO-NO in the world of riding.  Can’t control the horse, shouldn’t be on him.  I landed hard on my right side feeling a pain so bad I thought I had broken my hip.  I suffered through several weeks of pain and then, after several months all seemed to go back to normal.  UNTIL, I reached down to pick up a shirt from the floor and I couldn’t stand up.  This was several months after the fateful jump.  I was really suffering now.  So, I did all the things I always do – chiropractor, natural anti-inflammatories, massage therapy, etc.  But, very little relief.  Then, one day my chiropractor said, “Sue, we may be able to get this hip back into riding shape but this pain might appear somewhere else.”  Really???  That was really comforting!

So, here we are, 2 1/2 years later and one of my doctors tells me about Dr. John Sarno, a pain specialist in New York City, who has treated thousands of patients with back pain and getting better than a 90% success cure rate.  So, I immediately buy the book.  What fascinating research and information!  Most lower back pain (which is where my pain has now settled) is due to negative emotions of anger and fear, old and new, stored in the mind and settled in the body in the lower back.  REALLY???  So, I am now following Dr. Sarno’s recommendations in “The Mindbody Prescription” and I am getting relief.  Hallelujah!  As the book suggested, I have written out a list of the times in my life that have left me feeling like a victim, living in fear and anger, and I was shocked to see how much pain I have stored.  I was also amazed that I had a new neck pain (the second location) six months ago which has completely disappeared.  Every time I hear the old emotional wounds start to talk to me, I just keep telling myself I no longer need those thoughts to live a full life.

So, what about you?  Do you have back pain?  Or, any other body pain that doesn’t seem to heal?  We look forward to hearing from you.

Some more interesting information.  Lower back pain has an energetic message of “I don’t feel I am enough” – financially, physically, emotionally, etc.  And, I have to tell you, every time I got on my horse, Sweet Jac, I knew I wasn’t enough.  And, when I couldn’t control him, he let me know I was practicing The Law of Attraction – “what you think is what you will receive”!

Let us hear from you!  Hope you enjoyed our First Mind/Body Conversation!  More to come each month.

Warmly,

Sue and the Herd

This is a condensed version of what has transpired with my back pain, so don’t feel that it has been a quick solution.  It has taken a long time to store those negative emotions but I hope it will be a shorter time to allow them to leave.  I have studied the messages of the body (and it’s organs) for more than 20 years, and each time, with each client, I have always found that there is an emotional and spiritual message that we can learn from.
